The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive health and safety support across all areas of the organisation, operating within a fast-paced, high-performance motorsport environment. You will act as a central point of contact and trusted advisor across shop-floor operations, manufacturing and testing facilities, trackside activities, commercial functions and off-site teams.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Support departments in the creation, review and maintenance of Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and SOPs.
- Assist in collating and maintaining COSHH documentation, including chemical inventories, safety data sheets and risk assessments.
- Proactively promote a positive health and safety culture, including delivering toolbox talks and working with the H&S Committee.
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, carrying out root cause analysis and tracking corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and workplace inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and legislation.
- Provide competent advice on health and safety matters, including selection and correct use of PPE.
What you’ll bring
- NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of PUWER, DSEAR, LOLER, occupational hygiene, fire safety, COSHH, DSE, PPE, working at height and manual handling.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; high-performance or technically complex industry experience (motorsport, automotive, aerospace) is highly beneficial.
- A recognised auditing qualification and CDM experience would be advantageous.
- An empathetic, confident communicator able to present complex safety information to a wide audience.
