You will develop cutting-edge software for the Aerodynamics department, with a focus on transforming complex aerodynamic and track data into intuitive, high-performance visualisation tools. Your primary project will be the creation of a next-generation application that unifies multiple data sources, enabling engineers to gain deeper insights and make faster decisions.
Working closely with aerodynamicists and other stakeholders, you will operate across the full technology stack, from data storage and processing to rich, interactive user interfaces. You will own key features end-to-end, from requirements gathering and technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain custom software tools for the Aerodynamics department, delivering robust and scalable solutions that support engineering performance
- Take full ownership of tasks and projects from concept through to deployment, driving the successful delivery of capabilities to end users with accountability for quality, timelines, and outcomes
- Collaborate closely with engineers, aerodynamicists, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and translate business needs into effective software systems
- Develop and support applications across the full software stack, including databases, backend services, APIs, and user-facing interfaces
- Advocate for and apply software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, maintainability, and continuous improvement
- Lead troubleshooting, optimisation, and enhancement of existing systems to improve reliability, usability, and performance
- Contribute technical expertise within a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment, supporting both ongoing operational needs and future innovation
REQUIREMENTS
What do we need from you?
- A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Strong Python software development skills, including experience building production-quality applications
- Proven experience developing interactive 2D and 3D visualisation tools
- Experience integrating and working with multiple data sources and formats
- Experience delivering software in an engineering, scientific, or other technically demanding environment
- A strong understanding of software engineering best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with domain experts and end users
- A proactive and pragmatic mindset, with the flexibility to adapt quickly and take ownership of complex technical challenges
