Aerodynamics Surface Designer

We are looking for an Aero Concept Designer who thrives on challenge, thinks beyond the obvious, and wants to shape the future direction of a Formula 1 car. In the Aero Concept team, the mission is clear: reduce the time to aero intent. You’ll help turn early aerodynamic ideas into high-quality, FIA-legal 3D surfacing models for both wind tunnel testing and full-scale development.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and delivery of high-quality concept surface models within aero development groups using CAD software.
• Produce robust, FIA-legal geometry that is fit for purpose and ready for wind tunnel and full-scale release.
• Work closely with Aerodynamicists, Model Designers and other design teams to implement aero projects efficiently.
• Support the WSR process, ensuring accurate, regulation-compliant geometry.
• Play an active role in surfacing reviews and cross-functional discussions.
• Identify opportunities to improve design practices, processes and workflows.

Key technical skills & experience

• Completed apprenticeship, HND or degree in Mechanical, Product, Industrial or Automotive Engineering.
• Strong, transferrable engineering experience; motorsport exposure a bonus.
• Familiarity with aero concepts and development.
• Advanced 3D CAD surfacing skills.
• A clear communicator with strong teamwork and presentation skills, and good project-management awareness.
