Website WilliamsRacing Atlassian Williams F1 Team
Atlassian Williams Formula 1 Team
Our Machine Shop turns raw metal into race-ready components against deadlines that don’t move. We need a Metallic Machinist to join the team milling parts for the race car and our external customers to tolerances that leave no room for a second attempt — low volume, high accuracy, fast paced.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out machining operations as directed by your Team Leader, hitting deadlines throughout.
- Flagging machining problems early where they risk causing delays.
- Collaborating with Toolpath Programming to solve first-off machining problems and improve quality or runtime.
- Working with fellow machinists and other areas of the business to establish and use best practice.
- Inspecting first-off components thoroughly before running the rest of the batch to the same standard.
- Recording shop-floor data accurately and handing over clearly between shifts to protect production time.
This role operates on a night shift, Monday to Thursday, 18:15–04:45.
What you’ll bring
- A recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in a precision engineering environment (preferably F1).
- Extensive CNC machining expertise in low-volume, high-precision prototype environments, confidently setting, operating and planning across multiple 5-axis CNC machines.
- Strong knowledge of setting and operating Fanuc/Siemens-controlled machining centres, preferable but not essential.
- Previous experience using Hurco is advantageous.
- Knowledge of manufacturing metallic and non-metallic components from aircraft-grade metals and high-quality engineering plastics.
