Model Design Engineer

As a Model Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the physical components that feed our aerodynamic development — the very foundation of on-track performance. Working at the heart of our Silverstone facility, you’ll be part of a highly skilled, ambitious group of engineers focused on technical excellence and relentless innovation.

What you’ll do

• Deliver high-quality, well-validated parts for wind tunnel testing in line with aerodynamic targets.
• Support complete design projects, including CAD creation, project management, quality-checking and documentation.
• Continuously improve the functionality, quality and robustness of model parts to optimise wind tunnel test efficiency.
• Drive the development and implementation of improved design workflows and standards.
• Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists and Surface Design Engineers to ensure alignment with technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to standard design practices and help refine them as needed.

What we need from you

• Degree in Engineering, Design, Motorsport or a related discipline, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA) and experience using FEA for structural validation of parts.
• Strong understanding of parametric modelling, part robustness and model layout principles.
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including composites and advanced digital manufacturing techniques.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Willing to travel and work flexible hours during race season.
