Model Maker – Gantry Operational Support

We are looking for an experienced Model Maker to be responsible for assembly of the models, preparing parts and assemblies in line with our Aerodynamic programme, to enhance and make the car faster. They will liaise with other Modelmakers, Model Design, Mechanical Design, Aerodynamicists plus the Additive Manufacturing team to provide parts for wind tunnel testing, and work with the software and technology used to support the preparation, assembly and setup of wind tunnel models.

What you’ll do

• Work with the Team Leaders, Modelmakers and design and Aerodynamics teams to develop the wind tunnel model and testing programme.
• Take personal ownership of assigned work, anticipating requirements, identifying risks early and acting decisively to maintain delivery momentum.
• Execute day-to-day tasks, providing support to model shop activities and wind tunnel working.
• Identify and implement new methods, processes and procedures to improve efficiency and capability, while supporting the development and upskilling of junior team members.

What we need from you

• Extensive experience within the automotive industry or high-performance engineering sector; previous experience in Formula 1 is desirable.
• Strong and broad knowledge of Leica systems, 3D scanning, PI Toolbox, Diablo procedures, and related systems.
• Flexibility to work on shifts, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
