Model Technician

Based at our Silverstone facility, in this role you will be part of a dedicated team working across the Model Shop and Wind Tunnel environments to manufacture, assemble and test high-quality components for aerodynamic development and wind tunnel testing.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture wind tunnel model parts and assemblies to the highest standards while meeting demanding project deadlines.
• Support the Model Shop team in managing workloads and achieving departmental targets.
• Build and maintain complex mechanical assemblies for wind tunnel models.
• Identify technical issues and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
• Collaborate with Model Design Engineers to improve the efficiency, functionality and quality of model changes and components.
• Support and maintain Health & Safety standards within the working environment, and travel regularly as required to support team activities and testing operations.

What we need from you

• Proven experience in wind tunnel model preparation and wind tunnel testing.
• Background in model-making within a high-performance motorsport environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical installations and assemblies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
