In Formula 1, every area of the car must work in harmony, and Powertrain Integration plays a critical role in turning engineering ambition into on-track performance — from gearbox and hydraulics to PU cooling systems, fuel systems, pneumatics, clutch systems and exhausts.

What future opportunities may involve

• Taking technical ownership of Powertrain design projects from early concept, to testing, through to end use.
• Producing schemes, designs, models and manufacturing drawings for performance, reliability, upgrade and fault-fix programmes.
• Working across gearbox, hydraulics, clutch, cooling systems, fuel systems, pneumatics and exhaust systems.
• Collaborating with Build, Dyno, Test & Development, R&D, Systems, Controls, Vehicle Performance, Inspection and Quality.
• Applying first-principles thinking to support robust, right-first-time design work.
• Supporting validation and feedback loops from dyno testing, servicing, race events and car build.
• At senior or lead levels: owning key systems, setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.

What we typically look for

• A degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or a related discipline.
• A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and first-principles thinking.
• Previous experience in Formula 1, another top-level motorsport category, or a similarly high-performance engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and confidence with complex, highly integrated systems.
• Knowledge or interest in areas such as gear/bearing design, hydraulics, thermodynamics and cooling, fuel systems, power unit integration, composites, additive manufacture, FEA/CFD, and CATIA V5/V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE.
